Frequently Asked Questions

If your question is not answered here, please send us an email at yegtextbooks@gmail.com.

01

How does consignment work?

We meet with you at MacEwan University to pick up your textbooks and have you sign an agreement form. We will then look all over Edmonton to do our best to sell your textbooks for you. We give you the money for your books sold minus $10 or 20%, whichever is greater, for commission. By a particular date agreed upon, YEG Textbooks will give you back the books that do not sell or donate them for you -- you choose!

02

How much does this service cost?

To provide you with the convenience of hassle-free buying and selling, YEG Textbooks will only deduct a 20% fee or $10, whichever is greater, from the sales of textbooks.

E.g. You have a textbook you are wanting to sell for $80. The fee decucted would only be $16... that means you keep $64 -- without haveing to do anything but contact us!

03

How do I get the best deal?

We provide this service on a first come, first serve basis. This means that the first person with their book list to us will get the cheapest/best condition textbook we can find for you. We will, however, always strive to find you the best deal in every transaction and guarantee prices lower than bookstore prices.

04

What universities qualify?

As long as you are located in Edmonton and the surrounding area, it does not matter which university you attend. The main universities that we will be servicing however, include MacEwan, University of Alberta, and NAIT.

05

When can I contact you to buy/sell books for me?

You can contact us at any time, any day with your textbook information. We will do our best efforts to respond within 24 hours with a confirmation notice that we have received your textbook requests.

06

How can I share my notes with others?

Simply email your notes as an attachment (preferably in .pdf, .doc, .docx) to yegtextbooks.com and we will load them onto the site as soon as possible.

07

How can I see other people's notes?

Once people have uploaded notes to the site, they will be available under the notes>downloads.
